About the Shoes

The shoes I paint are good quality unbranded shoes, in the style of  Converse “chuck taylor”. I’m selective about the shoes since I like to keep a high standard and have chosen the Converse type because it is the most popular. I use unbranded shoes to keep them affordable but if you like original Converse and don’t mind paying a bit more, just let me know. There is also an option for Organic, Fair trade sneakers (Etiko) which again will cost more, but you get a product that is both good quality and morally right. If there is enough interest i will bring some into New Zealand. All sizes are available, if you’re old or young, male or female – they suit everyone. All shoes are painted with fine quality water-based paint that does not rub off. The paint gives an extra protection layer to the shoes and makes them more water resistant. Wipe any dirt off with a wet cloth and you’re away.

I paint shoes to order. You can view the shoes in stock in the category Painted to Order.

How it started: I was back in Europe in 2007. I was looking for a pair of dark red shoes, but couldn’t find them anywhere. Then a thought struck me, I wonder what happens if I paint a pair? So I bought a pair of white Converse and painted them up. While in the process i thought, why not add a design as well. It turned out really well. After that I started painting shoes for friends and family. They were always very much appreciated and received very good feedback. I thought this is something I’d like to share with everyone. I like the idea that the shoes can be personalized into any colour with any type of design, which gives a lot of freedom of choice. Each pair of shoes I paint is unique and individual, which makes them special to the person wearing them. I paint my own designs on the shoes, and I’m also happy to do custom work and incorporate your own ideas.
